PTFE(Teflon) Gasket

Gaskets are mechanical seals used to fill the space between two or more mating surfaces, typically to prevent leakage from or into connected objects when compressed. Gaskets accommodate "imperfect" joint surfaces on machine components by filling irregularities. They are commonly manufactured from sheet or rod materials.  

Polytetrafluoroethylene (PTFE) gaskets exhibit excellent resistance to most mineral and organic chemicals, such as acids, alkalis, and solvents, and can operate at temperatures up to approximately 240°C. PTFE gaskets are suitable for use with gasoline and oils, making them an optimal choice for applications involving acids and alkalis.  

PTFE gaskets are often employed in environments with highly corrosive chemicals. They can be designed as bore liners (PTFE sleeve liners) to protect pipeline gaskets from chemical erosion. These gaskets are supplied according to bore dimensions and are referred to as PTFE sleeve liners.
